When opposing military personnel are engaged in battle against each other, there is no such thing as one or more of them being "killed by friendly fire".

'nuff said.

You make a valid point. Regardless of the direction or ownership of the bullets.

Welcome "back" my friend.

I agree.
There was nothing friendly about it.
It was caused by the enemy action requiring our action.
Too much blame is placed on our troops for incidents like this by ignorants.

In the heat of battle, ANYthing can and probably will happen. I don't think any military forces purposely look to fire on their own people. Except for maybe executions.

k i don't know the extent of the friendly fire because im only vaguely acquainted with the story, but at the same time i think that, while hannon and the rest of yaz are partially correct in what to me looks like "it's war, people are gonna die" at the same time your soldiers should be trained enough to distinguish friend from foe EVERY time notwithstanding other factors.

Popov, in the fog of battle it hasn't been easy to determine who is friend or foe since everyone wore brightly colored uniforms and stood in nice straight lines to shoot at the other guys. Confusion abounds and mistakes happen all the time. That's one reason we wear "glint" tape to prevent (hopefully) us getting shot when using NV equipment.
