WASH—Jan 25—DJNS—Associated Press has revealed that Senator Barack Hussein Obama, Democratic candidate for President of the United States, attend a Catholic school in Indonesia registered as a Muslim, further clouding the issue of where Obama was schooled in Indonesia and when. Obama, by his own admission in books that he has written, has said that he attended a Catholic school and a Muslim school while living in Indonesia with his atheist mother and Muslim stepfather. But now that Fox News reported that Obama may have been indoctrinated in Islamic teachings while attending the Muslim school in Indonesia , he and his handlers have gone spinning the story to the news media, and their stories do not match up.

Obama is claiming that the allegations by Fox are “scurrilous” and that he believes people “recognize that the notion that me going to school in Indonesia for two years at a public school there at the age of 7 and 8 is probably not going to be endangering in some way the people of America.” Associated Press is reporting that the Muslim school Obama attended is a public school, open to people of all faiths—this according to the spokesman for Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious affairs who goes only by the name of “Sutopo.” Records show that Obama attended a Catholic school first and then the Muslim school. When he was ten years old, he moved to Hawaii and attended a private secular school.

There are many holes in Obama’s story. First, if he attended the Muslim school when he was seven and eight, which school did he attend when he was nine and ten, if he first attended the Catholic school? There appears to be a gap in his education or a miscommunication about what school he attended and when he attended it. Associated Press reports that Obama’s mother relocated to Indonesia from 1967-71 after marrying Obama’s Muslim step-father—who Obama claims was no longer Muslim, but an atheist. The Catholic school, Fransiskus Assisis, where Obama first attended school, enrollment documents, however, show Obama enrolled as a Muslim, the religion of his stepfather.

Obama’s spokesman Robert Gibbs says he isn’t sure why the Catholic school document had Obama listed as a Muslim. Gibbs told AP, “Senator Obama has never been a Muslim.” While the spokesman is denying that Obama was never a Muslim, Obama, himself, has not publicly said he was never and is not now a Muslim.

What can Americans expect of a Muslim-educated Obama? AP writes of its interviews at the Muslim school in Indonesia, “Those tied to the school say they are proud to have had a student like Obama, and hope that, if he is elected president, his ties to Indonesia will broaden his world perspective and his views on religion.” Indonesia is home to some of the most radical Islamic schools in the world. And Obama’s identity is yet to be revealed as the confusing doubletalk hides the real Barack Hussein Obama, Democratic candidate for President of the United States .

I like how you're already trying to discredit and ridicule this man as much as possible even though he's a candidate in an election that's what, a year and a half away??? Could the democrats produce ANY candidate who's photos you wouldn't draw horns on and who's merits you wouldn't reject?

I'm not trying to smear this man; well, not a lot. I just want to know what he is hiding. It seems that smear campaigns are okay when they are aganst Conservative individuals.

Let's take a look at this possible presidential candidates views:

Abortion: Favors abortion rights. As Illinois lawmaker, opposed restrictions on public financing of abortions.

Global warming: Co-sponsored bill that would set mandatory caps on greenhouse gas emissions and raise energy costs. Plan would require emissions to return to 2004 levels by 2012 and to 1990 levels by 2020.

Health care: Wants universal coverage by 2012; details not specified.

Immigration: Voted to give illegal immigrants a route to citizenship after they pay fines and back taxes, learn English, satisfy a work requirement and pass a criminal background check. Voted for building a fence along Mexican border, and toughening requirements that citizens be given preference for jobs over guest workers.

Iran: Proposed regional conference that includes Iran, Syria and other neighbors, aimed at stabilizing Iraq. In 2004 Senate campaign, held out possibility of military action against Iran if sanctions designed to stop its nuclear program did not work.

Iraq: Supports capping troop levels at 130,000, beginning withdrawal May 1 and completing pullout of combat brigades by March 31, 2008.

Stem cell research: Supports relaxing restrictions on federal financing of embryonic stem cell research.

Me: Obama = Wasted life.

I guess you miss the point that these smears are coming from Hillary's campaign but you'll have to forgive me for having knowledge that in Islam a child born to a Muslim father is indeed Muslim. No Muslim group or individual has condemned him as an apostate for converting to Christianity and that does make me wonder. Gee, an atheist mother, a Muslim father then a Muslim step father, raised during his formative years in Indonesia and moonbat as the day is long. Must be Hugo Chavez's wet dream.

Well for one Hillary isn't Muslim and secondly she generally subscribes to the time honored Democratic principle of "tax the rich, feed the poor till there ain't no rich no more".

Exactly how in anyone's mind would a group of people who happen to know the truth about a series of events and call out a liar on them be a smear campaign? It's a smear campaign when you get these old folks together help them prepare the script and play emotional music in the background.

Exactly what I thought if they were leftists they would be whistleblowers and heroes of the revolution but since they are conservatives they're part of a smear campaign, something vile and the truth is called "swiftboating".

I seem to remember that Murtha had to pull in mucho political pressure to get his medals too. His commanders in the field described his wound as so slight that a wound medal would be a sham but as he entered the political arena there were plenty of Democratic Senators to help pressure his medal.

Moral relativism aside, don't you feel a little nauseaus at the thought of supporting a party that wants to remove all individual freedom for the greater good of the collective ..... nevermind, forgot you're Russian, it comes second nature.

If collectivism was in our nature we would still be in a socialist state and the anarchy that was the 90s when oligarchs fought amongst themselves over billions of dollars worth of resources and factories would not have existed. Collectivism is never part of human nature. Greed is part of human nature. People resort to collectivism when they can't get to the top on their own- if they can't be rich, nobody should be - that's human nature.

You continue to believe that I am anti-conservative and that I only labeled the swift boat gig a smear campaign because it is aimed against a democratic candidate. While I am undoubtedly more a democrat than a republican in the American political spectrum, I think that smear campaigns are overused in America. I'm not particularly against this campaign because it's backed by the reps, I'm against it because I think that the whole Hollywood effect - scripted text with emotional music in the background is incredibly overused in America in general - all issues and forms of media combined. Fox news presentations are another great example - commercials for news also fall into this category.

In the rest of the world, we don't get commercials for news programs - one thing is getting excited about sports (SC) another thing is glorifying people who just take AP reports and make them into colorful presentations. The nature of televised information in America is what bothers me at the core. You have to make everything exciting and emotional, you can't just say 10 people died in an explosion and the weather's gonna be partly cloudy, you have to do an in depth analysis of why little Johnny can't ride his bike on 5th street and why killer bees are going to destroy your crops this year.

There is way too much hype around information in the States - John Kerry wasn't a war hero - good to know - we don't need a 10 minute presentation with photos and videos to get the point.

I can say the exact same thing about Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" - the closeups of his face, growing up on a tobacco farm etc it's just something you guys like doing.

That's the whole point. He's fun to watch because he's a politician. A member of the scientific community would use boring spreadsheets and drone on for hours about numbers. We need something that we can show all kinds of people, the more user friendly it is, the more colorful, the better.
