Temple's location found, says Israeli archaeologist
Study of ancient cisterns pinpoints sacred site,
– Muslim Dome of the Rock outside confines

Using maps created in 1866 by a British explorer and passages from the Jewish Mishnah, an Israeli archaeologist and professor at Hebrew University says he has pinpointed the location of the sacred Jewish Temple, twice built and twice destroyed in ancient times.

While popular consensus places the Temple, built by King Solomon in the 10th century B.C. and rebuilt by Jews who returned from Babylon in the 5th century B.C., on the site of the present Muslim Dome of the Rock, Prof. Joseph Patrich says archaeological remains show its exact location – and the consensus is wrong.

FULL ARTICLE
I doubt this will really resolve anything. The Muslims will always argue over this.

I really think this whole issue is overblown. People should just be happy to visit the holy site and pray or something, irrespective of their faith. I hate how political this issue is, and the guy who did the research even makes a point that this shouldn't become political, even though it probably will and already is.

Thousands of years of evolution, and humans are still the same greedy hateful cavemen deep inside that they were back in the day. Why does one religion have to be better than another? You know, if there was one good thing about communism, it was that because religion was almost completely inexistent, we didn't have these problems and conflicts of interest, religious terrorism, conflicts etc.

Yeah, what's wrong with no religion? [/sarc] Morality and virtues are basically meaningless without a faith-based system. When you take an oath or swear to uphold something why would anyone believe you if you don't have a superior being that will hold you to your oath. Also with communism, your personal identity is inexistent.

What communists/ socialists do when they outlaw religion is they set up government to replace their faiths. Hmph, yeah that sounds like a solid idea, strike down God to be replaced by inferior, flawed mankind.

The whole thing with the Temple is a set up for the end times that were talked about in the Bible. Islam is wrapped up in the end times as well. There will be no peace when a satanic cult is part of the negotiations.

Why can't we just allow everyone to have Jerusalem, and then nuke Mecca?

I watched a documentary recently about a possible location of the Garden of Eden. End state, the archaeologist believes its off the coast off of Iraq.

He used satellites, ancient maps, and Biblical verses to find it all. It was very riveting...well, from a history dork.
