Has the Constitution been rendered Irrelevant by our Govt?

Whether someone is from the right, left or libertarian, many of us feel that at least certain parts of the Constitution have been trampled on by state, local and federal government, and that it's getting worse? Do you agree?
Is a Constitutional convention needed to rectify this?

Times change, and the law should adjust to changes within society. Nevertheless, I agree with beer on this one. The constitution has been somewhat disregarded as of late, on numerous issues concerning both camps ' issues as well as common issues.

I disagree with the general premise of "times change, laws should change"

The Constitutionis NOT a "living" document.
It is a CONTRACT between the government and the governed and sets specific limits on what the government MAY and may not do, and what it MUST do. And it acknowledges the inalienable rights of Americans.

It should not be fucked with. Either by liberals or Republicans. Except in accordance with the ammendment process.

I think it's funny that people are stuck on the fact that the Founders were very intelligent, great thinkers, blah, blah, blah, but then they [modern $hitheads] want to change or remove pieces of a document that these same Founders wrote. I say leave it as it is. Some laws of that time may have needed some change, but the basic premise of it shouldn't.
