Re: Russian elections, did Putin stuff the boxes?
yes the elections were rigged
yes putin has been building up a power base for the past 7 years
yes he's gonna manage to retain power after his presidency
no not enough russians care
why? cuz everyone fears the yeltsin years, and by the time people wake up and realize how far russia is from the anarchy of those years, by the time they realize they might need a strong leader but that putin is so much more than that... it'll be too late

- it's too bad nobody in russia really cares -

Seems very likely the elections weren't as free and fair as they should have been, the OSCE and the Council of Europe both said the standards for democratic elections were not met. I think Putin probably is quite popular, but not as popular as the results would indicate, the results in Chechnya were particularly astounding.

well yeah, no shit he's not as popular as the numbers would suggest, he's running a one party state, why would he NOT stuff the boxes, he's reducing civil liberties and building a power base while he has the backing of the majority of the population

I'm pissed off because there's ice everywhere, my electicity is off, phone doesn't work, I have to gas up the generator twice a day, I'm working 12 hour shifts plus, I'm coming down with a cold and I'm plain worn down smooth. Oh yeah, their calling for 4 to 6 inches of snow this weekend.
Besides that I'm all good.
