Obama's number 1!
Who woulda thought it, old Obama wins Iowa and in a few hours I suspect he's gonna have New Hampshire wrapped up as well. Obviously you're not all as interested in this as the Republican race (and yes I'm aware you're not all Republicans), but I think these are some pretty big developments. What do you think about it? Can Clinton rebound or is she dust? Who would you rather see win (if you can bring yourselves to make a pick)?

Presumably those interested in who is going to be the next President, which appears not to be you.

You don't think he could win it then? What do you base your colourful accusations on? When has he ever shown that he is a socialist (in the true definition of one) or Muslim?
And what does it matter if he was a Muslim? Do you take issue with the Muslim Republicans group (http://www.muslimrepublicans.com/), which says it is the to the 'home of Republican and Conservative Muslims all over the United States.' You might notice on this site that there is a post praising the actions on Bush in the Middle East: 'For many years, Muslims have been complaining about Middle East dictators and politics. The Bush administration has taken a bold move toward democratizing and cleaning up the Middle East. No other president has had the courage to take that first step. Isn't it about time?'
Do you take issue with these Muslims, who seem to share a lot of the same views (though not as extreme) as you?

Re: Obama's number 1!
We're at war with islam.
Every fucking muslim is the enemy.
Hussein was raised and educated as a muslim and is a one man sleeper cell.
I don't give a fuck if a bunch of ragheads claim to republicans. The republican party is as much the enemy of liberty as the DemoRats.
As far as "democratizing" the barbarian muslims. It can't be done. Those savages have yet to go through their own rennasaince so their chances of 'democratizing' are nil.

You're at war with extremists who pretend to be fighting in the name of Islam, but they're not really. They represent a degenerated version that isn't Islam at all.
Who are you going to vote for if not the Republicans? A failing of the two-party system I feel.

Re: Obama's number 1!
Though this thread (and most of this forum actually) seems to have turned into me talking to myself, I felt I should post that I am hugely suprised that Clinton has turned it around in NH. Stunning really, but certainly makes the Democratic race interesting.

We're at war with all muslims and have been for centuries.
Never said I would or would not vote for any party candidate
It's not a two party system.

It's not a two party system.
Technically you could vote for a third party candidate, and I encourage you to do so, but the way the American system is set up only two parties have a realistic chance of representation in Senate, House or Executive.
Who do you think you would vote for if not a Republican?
If you mean conflicts like the Crusades, and empires like the Ottoman Empire, then yes Western Christianity has been in conflict with Muslims for a long time. Of course its also been in conflict with itself, pagan beliefs, Orthodox Christianity, Hindu's, and nearly every other religion/culture in existence. I think you greatly over-estimate the numbers of extremist Muslims (who I'm sure are out-numbered by Christian extremists liek yourself) and their actual intent towards the United States. Personally, I just think you were raised to hate Islam.

Re: Obama's number 1!
I haven't voted for a Republican or Democrat (for President) since 1984.
I am not sure who I will vote for this year. I like Ron Paul. Somewhat like Fred Thompson. And can't stand the rest of the Repubbies. I don't care for any of the Dems, but I can understand the support for Obama. He's very charismatic. But then, so were Hitler and Mussolini.
Since I doubt Paul will get the Repub nomination, and if Thompson doesn't win the GOP, I'll probably stick with a Constitution Party or Libertarian party candidate.
It has nothing to do with Christianity. Islamonazis are at war with everyone that isn't them. And that includes you.
As for being raised to hate islam. You don't know what you're talking about. I was a middle east/muslim expert in the military. Speak and read fluent Arabic, as well as Bahasa Malay/Indones, farirly good in Farsi, Pashtu and I picked up some Urdu in Afghanistan. I've read the Koran in 4 languages and the Hadiths in 3. I've celebrated Hari Raya Pusa with muslim friends in Singapore, Malaysia, Kuwait and Iraq, been to numerous muslim weddings, funerals and other events. I've had several friends who've completed their haj to Megga. I probably know more about islam than most muslims. Maybe more than you, but I don't know how much you know.
Raised to hate islam? No way. I was raised in a time and place where people who look like me were lynched, had to sit in the back of the bus, couldn't get served in whites only restaurants. Nope. Definately not raised to hate them. But after spending so much time with them, understanding the two faced phoniness of their cult and seeing the hate in their eyes -- even the so called good ones who were my 'friends' . . . it's been acquired taste. A life lesson. They hate you as much as I hate them.
It's us against them.
You can live with you head in the sand only so long as people like me are willing to fight for you.

Any particular candidates in mind? I take an interest in the minor parties as I would like to see them have greater representation in US politics in the future.

Re: Obama's number 1!
I feel that because of the nature of Islam - because of the laws laid down in the Qu'ran concerning holy war and whatnot, it is easier to manipulate this particular religion than most others in the interests of terrorism, extremism etc. As for Obama, the fact that he has a multicultural upbringing is a good thing - that kind of thing usually allows for a more open minded approach, and after this last presidency, some open minded reform wouldn't be bad for America.

Well, it would be a hoot if the Libertarians nominated Penn Jillette. His evangelical atheism sickens me, but his stance on most other issues is good. But he'd never be elected.
To be true to my concience I might just have to write in a candidate. In which case it would be Pat Buchannan.

Bilbo, I must apologize to you. I inadvertently hit "edit" instead of "quote" when responding to your post and I thoroughly f@cked up your original post. By the time I realized it, it was too late for an 'undo'. I'm a fucking bonehead. Sorry.
I am smacking myself on the head with a large wrench 10 times as punishment. Feeel free to follow suit and whack me upside the head.

He's got celebrity status, but I think its the wrong kind. He would be lucky.
Can't say I'm a big fan of Pat, though it doesn't suprise me that you are.

I see Obama has also picked up Kerry's endorsement. Could be the boost he needs after that setback in NH.

Re: Obama's number 1!
There's bad blood between the Klintons and Kerry so I'm not surprised.
Kerry's endoresement won't hurt Obama. It will probably help him a bit.
I don't see any difference between Obama and Hildebeast. They're both sneaky, sleazy bastards.
