I just got an E-mail from Popov so I decided to drop back in and see if we cant revive this place. Im pretty tired of the other forums I frequent so ill try this place again

It sounds like CL2 is back on life support. There's still hope!

Hello all. It seems after months in the wilderness this forum is experiencing somewhat of a revival. For so long I have been alone (well, occasionally Beer has abused me), but now I can see a new era of political debate. Huzzah!

I'm back because I got an e-mail from Popov reminding me that this site was still here. We were for a while turning into an echo chamber with poor participation. However, we are now at a point in history where Conservatives are actually trying to take back the GOP. That makes meeting places such as this, a critical necessity. Welcome to Ground Zero of the GOP Civil War and the starting point of Conservatives taking back the government.

Well I personally hope none of that happens, but I guess I will lend some legitimacy to this debate by representing the much-despised but tragically misunderstood far-left. Now I repeat; where is my nemesis Madcowhunter? Only he knows what to do now.......

I know you want to see a socialist U, but the facts remain the way Obama is going about it is more likley to destroy us than anything else

I have to hope that Obama fails. America is in a fragile state. We are drifting further and further away from our Constitution and the design of our nation's Founding Fathers. America is every bit as close to a break up as it was in 1861. If America is to survive as one free nation, we had better come to our senses and kill US Socialism in it's cradle before it grows to put this great nation in it's grave.

so you would prefer for his reforms to fail, for the economy to sink even deeper into recession for another 4 years just so that americans can once again lose faith in the dems? doesn't sound very pro-american - you want the american people to suffer because you don't like the guy who's in the white house? besides on what grounds? he's only been there for a few weeks - when GWB took the oath i dont think anyone would have guessed that his presidency would turn out the way it did - why would you want to put sticks in the guy's wheels when he's trying to revive your economy? sure, you may not agree at all with his point of view, his way of doing things, and his agenda but wouldn't it be better to buckle down and try and collectively get the us, and by extension, the world, out of this financial rut?

I would prefer Obama's "reforms"(sic) to fail because they will turn a recession into a depression if they succeed. I would prefer Obama's policy to fail because it not only has no respect for the first 2 Amendments of the Bill of Rights, but it actually has contempt for them.

His reforms will make the economy worse.
The best thing would have been of no socialiaztion package.

But, yes, Obongo must fail. That is what's best for liberty.
