Winners and Losers in Stimulus Pact While
Feb. 12 (Bloomberg) -- General Motors Corp. emerged as both a winner and loser in the $789 billion economic stimulus package that lawmakers agreed to after ironing out differences between competing House and Senate versions.
The National Automobile Dealers Association, a trade group for 20,000 car dealers including Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based AutoNation, the country’s largest publicly traded auto retailer, asked its members to urge House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to support the Senate-passed tax deduction

I say the American taxpayer is the loser, there are no winners

I really don't see a good ending here , on a good note though maybe a third party of constitutionists/libertarians can come forward and save our beloved America!

what would you propose? for GM to collapse? how is that better, it's one of the biggest employers in the world - add all of the side industries providing GM with parts and raw materials and that is a LOT of unemployed people we're talking about
if it was your decision what would you have done?

Companies collapse. So what? It's part of the economic system.
We've done OK without Eastern Airlines (at one time the worlds largest), Dusenberg, Burroughs computers, Ipsilon Networks, Calmetrics, Plymouth, Oldsmobile and many others. Big deal.
Someone would have bought up the remnants, restarted with without the goddanged unions, and made a go of it.
I thought you atheists believed in evolution?
