None of these I would consider as a good endorsement

I have a lot of respect for Ted Kennedy and Jane Fonda, even if they aren't socialists.

Jane Fonda does not hate America, though her message may not be popular with veterans (which shouldn't matter a whole lot, because they're just like any other voter). Ted Kennedy has some very liberal policies which he isn't afraid of standing up for. I don't think liberal is a dirty word and neither does he which is good. The Chappaquiddick incident is interesting no doubt, but considering the situation you can't say for that he left her to die. Many people would have been very messed up at the time, and probably very scared and confused (as he himself noted). Yes, he acted inappropriately. But that doesn't mean he purposely left her to die.
